Gear We Actually Use
This page lists the gear we actually use while riding and filming for Throttle & Threads.
No hype. Just equipment that works for real motorcycle riding.
Motorcycle touring gear, including cameras, mounts, communication systems, and real-world riding essentials.
We only recommend gear we've personally ridden with or brands we've had good experience with on the road. If a newer version exists, we’ll point you to the current model. Sometimes we’ll list a few options we've used rather than pretending there’s only one choice.

Camera Gear
The gear we use to capture real rides as they happen.

GoPro Hero 11 Black
Miles Tested
This is the camera behind most of our ride footage. It’s been used across real rides, different conditions, and long days on the road.
GoPro no longer sells the Hero 11, so the link below points to their current camera lineup.
RickRak Fairing Mount
Miles Tested
This is the mount we use to run the GoPro. It’s solid, adjustable, and has held up well on real roads and real miles.
Once it’s set, it stays put — even on longer rides and rougher roads.
Communications
Cardo Systems FREECOM 4X
You can see the Cardo FREECOM 4X and other Cardo headsets here.
